How bands work

Four criteria, five bands

Band 1 is the highest. NAATI requires Band 2 or better on every criterion in all six tasks.

Meaning transfer

Whether the whole message reached the listener: ideas, numbers, names, conditions.

Interpreting mode

Whether you interpreted the way the task asks: complete, prompt, first person, steady lag.

Delivery

How fluent and easy to follow you sounded.

Target language

How correct and natural your language was.

Our AI feedback gives estimated band ranges. It is not a NAATI result.

The Problem

Interpreting practice needs exam conditions.

The CI test times you, plays each recording once and listens for every criterion.

Hard to recreate

Timers, single plays and the beeps before sight translation are hard to set up on your own.

Hard to judge yourself

Your own recording rarely tells you which criterion held you back.

Hard to track

Without the same criteria every time, progress is a guess.
