BuMate exists because generic AI can't tell you whether your interpreting would pass a real NAATI CCL exam. Ours was built alongside NAATI-certified interpreters specifically so it could.
Our scoring models weren't trained on generic language data. They were co-developed and reviewed by NAATI-certified interpreters and calibrated against real examiner decisions, so the feedback you get reflects how a professional interpreting exam is actually marked — not a generic AI opinion.
Every practice attempt is scored on Accuracy, Quality of Language, and Quality of Delivery — the same deduction framework used in the real CCL exam. You always know exactly which dimension is costing you marks, and why.
On eligible plans, you can request Expert Scoring — a NAATI-certified interpreter manually reviews your submission and gives detailed feedback. You can also book a 1:1 session with a verified interpreter for targeted coaching on your weak areas.
BuMate supports 40 of the 55 CCL languages — Korean, Vietnamese, Arabic, Mandarin, Hindi, Punjabi, Nepali, Persian and more — because interpreting exam prep only works if you can practise in your own language pair.
Expert Scoring and 1:1 sessions on BuMate are handled by interpreters and educators who apply to teach on the platform and are reviewed by our team before approval. Many hold NAATI certification and bring direct CCL or IELTS examining and teaching experience — we do not publish individual credential numbers, but every applicant is manually reviewed before they can score a student submission.
We're continuously working to make this review process more rigorous and more transparent as the platform grows.
